Terms of Use

PlotShelf is a book tracking and reading journal application intended for organizing a personal library, logging reading sessions, and monitoring individual reading progress. The App allows, among other features:

• creation and management of a personal book library;
• reading progress tracking;
• personal reading goal setting;
• visualization of reading statistics;
• creation of reminders and notifications;
• local data export and import.

PlotShelf does not constitute a medical, psychological, therapeutic, or professional service.

Use of the App is permitted to users aged 13 years or older. By using the App, the user declares that:

• they have the legal capacity to accept these Terms;
• they will use the App responsibly and in accordance with applicable laws.

PlotShelf grants the user a limited, non-exclusive, non-transferable, and revocable license to use the App exclusively for personal and non-commercial purposes. The user agrees not to:

• copy, reproduce, or redistribute the App;
• modify, disassemble, or reverse engineer the App;
• attempt to access the source code;
• use the App fraudulently, abusively, or illegally;
• use the App to harm third parties;
• exploit technical vulnerabilities;
• create derivative versions or similar applications based on PlotShelf.

We reserve the right to limit, suspend, or terminate access to the App if abusive, fraudulent use or violation of these Terms is identified.

PlotShelf has been designed to operate primarily with local storage on the user's device. Data created by the user, including:

• books and lists;
• reading progress;
• reading sessions;
• notes and quotes;
• reviews and ratings;
• reminders;

is stored locally on the device. PlotShelf does not create user accounts and does not require authentication. The user is responsible for:

• protecting their device;
• ensuring backups of their data;
• maintaining backup copies if deemed necessary.

Uninstalling the App may result in the permanent deletion of locally stored data.

PlotShelf provides:

• a free version with limited features;
• premium features available through payment.

Premium options may include:

• monthly subscription;
• annual subscription;
• lifetime license ("Lifetime").

Payments are processed through the Google Play Store and may be managed through third-party platforms, including RevenueCat.

Subscriptions renew automatically unless canceled by the user through the Google Play Store before the renewal date. Canceling a subscription prevents future charges while maintaining premium access until the end of the already paid period.

"Lifetime" purchases grant permanent access to the premium features available at the time of purchase, except in cases of technical impossibility, legal requirements, or permanent discontinuation of the App.

Except where otherwise required by law, refunds are not provided. Billing and payment matters may be subject to Google Play Store policies.

We reserve the right to:

• add, modify, or remove features;
• change prices;
• modify premium plans;
• introduce advertising in the future;
• change App availability;
• temporarily or permanently suspend features.

We may release new versions, technical fixes, or security updates without prior notice.

PlotShelf may in the future include:

• sharing reading progress on social networks;
• cloud synchronization;
• integrations with third-party services;
• new premium features.

The availability of these features may require changes to these Terms and to the Privacy Policy.

PlotShelf may use third-party services for:

• payment processing;
• error monitoring;
• application performance and stability.

Currently, the following may be used:

• Apple App Store;
• Google Play Store;
• RevenueCat;
• Sentry;
• Firebase Crashlytics (in the future).

The use of these services may be subject to the terms and policies of the respective entities.

All rights related to PlotShelf, including:

• name;
• brand;
• design;
• interface;
• features;
• code;
• graphical elements;
• content;

belong exclusively to PlotShelf and/or its licensors. Nothing in these Terms grants the user any intellectual property rights over the App.

PlotShelf is provided "as is" and "as available". We do not guarantee that:

• the App will operate without interruptions;
• the App will be error-free;
• all features will always be available;
• no data loss will occur.

To the maximum extent permitted by applicable law, PlotShelf shall not be liable for:

• data loss;
• indirect damages;
• service interruptions;
• financial losses;
• damages caused by improper use of the App.

The user uses the App at their own risk.

PlotShelf is intended exclusively for personal organization and reading tracking. The App:

• does not provide medical advice;
• does not provide psychological advice;
• does not replace healthcare professionals;
• does not guarantee personal or behavioral results.

Any decision related to health, well-being, or routines should be made independently and responsibly by the user.

We reserve the right to:

• suspend features;
• limit access;
• terminate premium access;
• block users;
• discontinue the App;

whenever there is:

• violation of these Terms;
• abusive use;
• attempted copying;
• improper technical exploitation;
• illegal or fraudulent activity.

These Terms may be updated periodically. The most recent version will always be available at: https://plotshelf.com

Continued use of the App after changes constitutes acceptance of the updated Terms.

These Terms and Conditions are governed by Portuguese law. In the event of a dispute, the Portuguese courts shall have jurisdiction, with express waiver of any other jurisdiction.
